Course Information

Description

Remote Online Tutor-Led Course | Approx. 4 hours | UK CAA PPL

The PPL Radio Communication Refresher Course provides pilots with the knowledge and practical understanding needed to improve confidence and accuracy in aeronautical radiotelephony. It focuses on clear communication, correct phraseology, and effective use of radio procedures in both normal and abnormal flight operations.

Participants will revisit the key principles of aviation radio communication, including VHF radio use, standard ICAO and UK phraseology, callsign procedures, and readback requirements. The course also covers practical communication scenarios such as aerodrome circuit calls, en-route communication, joining and transit procedures, MATZ penetration requests, and handling distress, urgency, and radio failure situations. Practical simulation exercises help reinforce correct radio discipline and improve real-world communication confidence.
