Quality Assessment Framwork
Building on the success from our initial outstanding grade in 2024, we are pleased to confirm that ATC Training has retained the grade of Outstanding after our latest inspection in December 2025. The Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) is a requirement for all CAA-registered aviation security training providers.
Training providers are assessed against six aspects:
- Management and Governance Structure
- Assessment and Training Materials
- Resources
- Internal Monitoring and Self-assessment
- Learner and Data Management
- Certification
ATC Training scored outstanding in every category, a fantastic result, and demonstrated a commitment to quality.
Aviation Security Training
ATC Training provides General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) and Hold Baggage Reconciliation (HBR) training for staff at UK-based airports, as well as a broader range of aviation and non-aviation courses.
Bulk discounts are available for companies purchasing aviation courses, and we offer employers easy access to issue courses, making the process as simple as possible.
What is GSAT Training?
General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) is mandatory for anyone applying for or renewing an airport ID pass in the UK. This means that most airport workers require GSAT training; exceptions apply to those with higher-level security training.
GSAT training can only be issued to those who have completed an aviation background check, and is usually the last part of the airport ID pass application process.
What is HBR Training?
Hold Baggage Reconciliation (HBR) training is required by anyone involved in the hold baggage process, including check-in staff, gate staff, ramp and baggage agents, and the appointed person.
HBR training builds on the knowledge gained in GSAT and ensures everyone is aware of their responsibilities in the process.
