Regulated Qualification | Distance Learning (Self-Study)

   

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF), formerly CTLLS, is suitable for those currently working in a teaching or training role. This includes trainers or tutors working in a college, independent training providers and workplace trainers.

Duration

You can complete this course at your own pace for up to 12 months. Typically, distance learning students complete this course within 6 months.

Units

Learners will achieve 36 credits across 6 units:

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
  • Delivering education and training
  • Using resources for education and training
  • Assessing learners in education and training
  • Planning to meet the needs of learners
  • Inclusive practice

Assessment

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence that covers all assessment criteria for the units selected. Assessment methods include:

  • 6 x Written essays
  • Training Log (30 hours)
  • Initial assessment/diagnostic assessment
  • Produce a scheme of work and lesson plans
  • 3 hours of teaching/training observations
  • Self-evaluation and reflection
  • CPD log

Suitability

Who should do this course?

This qualification is suitable for anyone training or teaching learners aged 14+.

 

Pre-requisites

Learners must be 19+ years old to enrol in this course. You do not necessarily need to work in a full-time teaching role, but you will need to be able to complete 30 hours of teaching (learners aged 14+) during the qualification. This may include voluntary work and online sessions.

Certificate

Typically, within 7 days of successful completion, learners will receive an externally accredited PDF certificate from a nationally recognised and Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation.
